Bidayuh Small Basket (Tombok)

These exquisite rattan baskets are handwoven by the Bidayuh people in Sarawak and Kalimantan. Usually woven by women during non-harvesting seasons, the weavers usually belong to an extended family, who come together at a designated house to weave during the low agriculture seasons. Each basket takes approximately 1.5 days to complete, depending on the complexity of the design.
These versatile baskets make a great planters, or you can pop them in your home as a tidy for organising toys, vegetables, socks, etc!
