Bidayuh Lidded Basket (Bayung)

These exquisite rattan baskets are handwoven by the Bidayuh people in Sarawak and Kalimantan. Usually woven by women during non-harvesting seasons, the weavers usually belong to an extended family, who come together at a designated house to weave during the low agriculture seasons.
