Adela Askandar

Adela completed a masters in architecture at the University of Cambridge and completed her RIBA professional qualifications in 2002 after working in an intense 2-person design-led studio, Lisa Shell design. Upon returning to Malaysia, Adela worked with Unit One design till 2005, after which she freelanced for both conservation projects and developers. She also enjoyed creative collaborations with Farah Azizan, which led to the formation of Studio Bikin in 2012. Kedai Bikin, which started as a pop-up platform for Malaysian designers in 2013, carried on hosting a range of furniture and home products designed by either Adela, Farah, or other Asian designers.
